Alexis “sunshine” Zappia is a self-taught artist & tattooer working out of Cincinnati, Ohio USA.
Her work focuses on the natural world featuring ornamental design, illustrative botanicals, the human form, contrasting line weights, bold whip shading, and elements of magic. Her tattooing career began in 2013 with an apprenticeship at Truth & Triumph tattoo in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio - where she worked until relocating to White Whale Tattoo in April, 2019, and eventually into her own private studio in June, 2023, where she currently resides.
Alexis continues to create hoping to transcend outward - sharing work in pursuit of experience, knowledge, and connection to all through tattooing. Other mediums of interest include ink & stain, watercolor, acrylic, photography, cooking, gardening, travel, and crafting.
Tattoos are for all body types, skin tones, and walks of life. Whether you’re a new client, a regular on the books, or just a collector passing through, you’re most welcome!
